Examples of Using ALIF in a Sentence

  • In Quranic writings, a maddah is placed on any other letter to denote the name of the letter, though some letters may take on a dagger alif.
  • It also lacks the definite article al-, whose upright alif and lam are responsible for distinct verticality and rhythm of the text written in Arabic.
